We’re seeking an Editorial Social Media Manager to help grow our community and elevate our voice across platforms, with a special emphasis on X (formerly Twitter). Job Responsibilities:

  • Content Curation & Strategy: Read and analyze articles, selecting the most engaging approach for social media platforms.
  • Copywriting: Write sharp, on-brand copy for posts across platforms, especially X.
  • Platform Management: Manage posting and content distribution across social channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, TikTok), with a primary focus on growing and engaging the audience on X.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with journalists and the art team to ensure content is visually compelling and contextually aligned.
  • Engagement: Monitor and engage in conversations across platforms to build community, uncover trends, and join relevant discussions. Facilitate meaningful conversations and build loyalty, especially on X, Youtube and Instagram. 
  • Data-Informed Decisions: Analyze engagement metrics to optimize social media strategies.
  • Editorial Involvement: Assist in shaping content and strategy, drawing on your understanding of editorial and journalistic practices.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Excellent Writing & Editing: You’re a strong writer and editor with a keen understanding of voice and tone.
  • Social Media Expertise: You’re highly proficient on X (formerly Twitter), with experience discovering conversations, trends, and communities. Familiarity with other platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Tiktok) is required.
  • Editorial Experience: Background in journalism, social media management, and content strategy, preferably within the tech or ideas space.
  • Quick Reader: You can swiftly consume and understand long-form content, articles, and thought pieces.
  • Creative Approach: You bring fresh ideas for framing stories and can adapt to the tone and ethos of the publication.
  • Collaborative: You’re a team player who works well with journalists, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Passion for Tech & Ideas: You have a deep interest in technology, business, Silicon Valley, and the intellectual space that surrounds these topics.
  • Highly Responsive: You’re able to work in a remote environment with quick communication and a high level of responsiveness (Slack is key).

Other Details:

  • This is a remote position, US-only, with a preference for candidates who can work during Eastern Standard Time business hours.
  • Full-time, competitive salary and benefits offered.
  • Salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience
