FanDuel is seeking an experienced editorial leader to build our owned editorial function. As our Editorial Director, you will be responsible for developing and driving an editorial strategy that showcases the people, products, and innovation happening at FanDuel. This role is rooted in corporate communication, focusing on identifying, shaping, and distributing stories that elevate FanDuel’s business, leadership, and impact. It’s an opportunity to establish our editorial voice, shape our narrative across owned channels, and define how we connect with audiences in new and authentic ways.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Develop and execute an editorial strategy across FanDuel's owned platforms, including the company news page and other corporate channels.
  • Identify and report out stories that highlight our innovation, leadership, culture, and responsible gaming initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader corporate communications goals.
  • Build and manage an editorial calendar aligned with company priorities, campaigns, milestones, and news moments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, External Affairs and Partnerships, Technology, and People teams to identify and develop editorial opportunities that tell the story of FanDuel as a business.
  • Use performance insights to continuously improve storytelling and strategy, maintaining a strong focus on the audiences most relevant to FanDuel’s brand and corporate reputation.
  • Help establish and maintain a FanDuel newsroom to serve as a resource for journalists, candidates, and customers seeking information about our company and initiatives.
  • Maintain editorial quality, consistency, and journalistic standards.

What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 7–10+ years of experience in journalism, editorial, or content strategy, with experience leading editorial teams or functions.
  • Strong ability to tell complex stories in engaging, accessible ways.
  • Solid understanding of digital publishing best practices and content optimization across platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and collaborating across teams and functions.
  • Ability to work both strategically and tactically—comfortable setting vision and executing hands-on work.
  • Strong editorial judgment and instinct for what makes a story interesting and timely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player who is adaptable and can deliver results in a growing, evolving environment.

The applicable salary range for this position is $122,000 - $153,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
