About the Role

As Editorial Director, you'll help shape the creative direction and craft culture of R/GA's Studio while staying hands-on in the work. You're a filmmaker with standout taste and a proven portfolio—someone who moves fluidly between vision and execution, inspiring the editorial team to do the best work of their careers. You think strategically about editorial workflows, AI integration, and scalable creative processes, and you're not afraid to jump into Premiere, After Effects, or generative tools to make the work better.

What You'll Do

  • Define and evolve the editorial voice and aesthetic for the studio; serve as a creative thought partner with leadership and clients
  • Lead by example: jump into editorial, motion, and AI tools when it elevates the work
  • Mentor and inspire the editorial team to take creative risks and push themselves
  • Review work across the studio, giving direction that makes pieces sharper and more intentional
  • Shape how we approach AI-native storytelling—balancing innovation with craft and narrative first principles
  • Build and define editorial workflows that integrate generative tools strategically in service of the story
  • Contribute to recruitment and hiring decisions that strengthen the team
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and excellence

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of professional editorial experience across broadcast, advertising, high end content, or film
  • Expert proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects; fluency across emerging AI platforms
  • Proven leadership: you've mentored editors, led creative teams, or shaped production direction
  • A standout portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual storytelling, pacing, rhythm, and sound/image integration
  • Strategic thinking about production pipelines, workflows, and scaling creative teams
  • Deep knowledge of AI tools and platforms; you stay current and excited about the space
  • Strong communication skills: you brief teams, give clear direction, and manage expectations
  • Collaborative approach to working across design, animation, production, technology, and leadership
  • Fluent in English (comprehension and speaking)

Skills Required

  • 10+ years of professional editorial experience across broadcast, advertising, high-end content, or film.
