The Star-Democrat in Easton, Maryland, is looking for a seasoned Managing Editor to supervise and coordinate the work of the newsroom. We are looking for someone to direct or participate in developing, writing and editing news stories. You’ll assign work to reporters and help them develop their stories. You will be as much a coach and mentor as an editor.

You're nimble, having the ability to pivot in an ever-changing workflow. You are a team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. You have the ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.

You will ensure stories are ready for immediate digital posting and you will be able to juggle the demands of digital and print journalism.

The Star Democrat has a close-knit newsroom. The reporters and editors are supportive, and we want to see each other succeed. We work hard, but we are serious about maintaining a good balance between work and life.

The newspaper is the flagship of the APG/Chesapeake group located in Easton, Maryland, on the beautiful Eastern Shore. Our circulation area includes Talbot County (37,600 population), Dorchester County (32,500 population) and Caroline County (33,400 population).

Amenities include close proximity to Chesapeake Bay and all of its many water sports and activities. There is a vibrant arts and entertainment scene and hundreds of wonderful restaurants on the Eastern Shore.

Talbot County is near Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
