What We Need:

We’re seeking an experienced Editor/Writer to write and edit creative content. The ideal candidate will have experience conceiving, writing and editing music and entertainment content, from breaking news to features, a deep understanding of internet culture, the ability to identify stories before they go viral and the ability to quickly edit copy to be clear and snappy. This person is first and foremost a lover and avid consumer of music, who also has a voracious appetite for television, movies, and prides themselves on having an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture. They must have a keen sense of why certain content is trending across social platforms. This person is a skilled researcher who can learn about unfamiliar topics at the drop of a hat, and is an organized and detail-oriented editor who can manage deadlines and turn around content very quickly.

                                                                             

What You'll Do:

  • Identify, write and edit a high volume of content daily; ensuring that content is accurate, grammatically correct, informative and entertaining (blog posts, headlines, social media content)

  • Enforces style and content standards

  • Generate creative and compelling ideas for stories, features and other shareable content across multiple formats

  • Manage and update archived materials

  • Collaborate with social team

  • Apply editorial judgement to content production

                                                                             

What You'll Need:

  • A proven track record creating shareable, viral content on social media

  • Tech savvy with ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools

  • Proficiency in writing news copy; fact checking and research; must work well under breaking news and deadlines

  • Understanding of social media with a working knowledge of SEO and tag management best practices

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Working knowledge of AI platforms

  • Relevant experience in web production and content creation

  • Photoshop, CMS publishing and HTML skills

  • Understanding of content marketing principles, fundamentals, strategies and key trends

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or English preferred

Compensation:

Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
