IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a full-time editor to join our content team for Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, and Vocabulary.com. In this role, you will help develop educational materials and curate content for users around the world. #LI-FA1
This is a full-time remote position for candidates living in the United States. #LI-REMOTE
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Edit articles and blog posts for spelling, punctuation, grammar, style, and clarity
- Edit content that is used to create Word of the Day entries and videos, Synonym of the Day entries, our daily newsletter, and more
- Ensure content adheres to IXL's writing guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style
- Curate content that appears on Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, and Vocabulary.com
- Collaborate with our team of writers, editors, illustrators, and video creators to create content that is fun, accurate, and engaging
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BA/BS degree
- 3+ years of professional editing experience
- Impeccable knowledge of English grammar, superior writing and editing skills, and the ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines
- Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style
- Experience creating and editing educational materials is a plus
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
- Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
