Job Description
The eDiscovery Analyst will support a wide range of technical services in support of electronic discovery within the Cyber Investigations and Insider Threat team. This responsibility includes hands-on usage of eDiscovery tools, including collecting, processing, loading, and producing electronic data in response to eDiscovery requests. Experience is required in supporting attorneys and/or paralegals utilizing eDiscovery support techniques, software, and equipment to provide technical assistance.
Responsibilities:
- As a dedicated eDiscovery Analyst, you will provide support and guidance to the NBCU Litigation Office, Human Resources, and Corporate Investigations on eDiscovery and digital forensics topics.
- Coordinate among internal parties, outside counsel, and technology vendors to implement upon processes and tasks in support of timely and compliant deliverables
- Conducts e-discovery and forensic acquisition and analysis within applicable data systems and regulatory requirements
- Applies the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) to identify, preserve, collect, process and produce digital data for use in legal proceedings
- Applies intermediate understanding of E-Discovery regulations, data systems, and E-discovery information to ensure accuracy in interpretation of evidence to reduce legal, financial, and reputational risks
- Makes recommendations to litigation attorneys and internal investigation partners such as Employee Relations
- Collaborates with Cyber Investigations by preparing and managing the digital evidence collected and analyzed piece of cases for use in related court processes
- Optimizes efficiency of large-scale reviews of electronic materials, including preparing document review databases and searching, filtering, and batching documents, for use by attorneys or internal investigation partners to strengthen cases
- Provides technical support to internal service requesters and outside counsel and appropriately escalates legal or technical issues encountered in the use of legal document review databases
- Manages and documents the collection, extraction, production, and purge of digital evidence collections in compliance with applicable legal preservation obligations
- Applies intermediate understanding of information security requirements to employ data handling best practices to effectively protect company information assets throughout the life of a matter
- May test and validate software implementations and updates
- Stays abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and changes of law applicable to subject matter areas
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related legal or technological discipline, or 2+ additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- 2+ years experience related to eDiscovery operations, and chain of custody
- Working knowledge of physical file storage, file and system metadata, network and cloud architecture, relational databases (SQL), file transfer protocol (FTP), and other related technological subject matter that are relevant to eDiscovery processes.
- Must be able to handle multiple matters, and work independently.
- Requires the combination of outstanding customer support capabilities and troubleshooting expertise.
Desired Characteristics:
- Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification
- Knowledge with document review tools and databases, such as, Relativity or IPRO, T360, Exterro LHP, etc.
- At least one industry-recognized or tool-specific certification (GCFE, GASF, CDFE, CHFI, A+, Security+, Network+, CEDS, CISSP, FTK, EnCase, RCA, IPRO, Relativity)
