Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)
Pay Range: $50k-$60k
Position Summary:
The Transmissions Engineer 1 is responsible for supporting electronic healthcare transaction processing, payer setup/connectivity, file transmission workflows, partner onboarding activities, and operational support of Quadax EDI systems. This role provides first-line troubleshooting and operational support while developing expertise in healthcare claims, remittance processing, and EDI infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with senior analysts and developers to maintain production systems, resolve transaction exceptions, support payer integrations, and ensure successful delivery of client data.
Key Responsibilities:
EDI Operations Support
- Monitor and support EDI transaction processing workflows.
- Investigate and resolve rejected or failed transaction files.
- Process and troubleshoot 999 and 824 acknowledgment files.
- Review transmission logs and identify processing errors.
- Resend claims and response files after validation.
- Monitor daily transmission queues and support operational incidents.
- Generate and manage support tickets and event requests.
Payer and Client Support
- Assist with payer onboarding and connectivity setup.
- Support new and old payer configuration activities.
- Communicate with payers through phone, email, and web portals.
- Reset and manage payer credentials when required.
- Assist with testing and validation of payer implementations.
Remittance Processing
- Support remittance reconciliation processes.
- Match remittance files to appropriate payer records.
- Research missing remittance transactions.
- Review and process remittance workflow exceptions.
- Assist with Xaminer remittance processing tasks.
System Administration and Monitoring
- Monitor automated jobs and file-processing activities.
- Support Sterling Integrator trading partner configurations.
- Review system logs, .NET code and escalate issues appropriately.
- Support remote server access and operational maintenance tasks.
- Support internal applications and reporting functions.
File and Data Management
- Work with ANSI healthcare transaction files.
- Modify and validate large text-based transaction files.
- Understand healthcare EDI file formats and payer response files.
- Assist with data validation and quality assurance activities
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of computer systems and file management.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with text editors and file comparison tools.
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Understanding of data formats and structured files.
- Entering/modifying database records for trading partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare EDI transactions (837, 835, 999, 824, 275).
- Familiarity with SQL databases and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of IBM Sterling Integrator.
- Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Exposure to Visual Studio or software development environments.
