Job Objective: The EDI Systems Analyst Sr is responsible for defining, analyzing, and supporting complex healthcare system integrations, with a strong focus on EDI, interoperability, and healthcare data exchange. This role aligns business objectives with technical solutions, serves as a subject matter expert for EDI systems, and provides leadership on system analysis initiatives within a regulated healthcare technology environment.
Responsibilities:
- Define system scope, objectives, and functional requirements aligned with organizational business plans and healthcare industry standards.
- Act independently or as part of cross-functional project teams, providing expert analysis on business and technical implications of system applications.
- Provide consulting support on complex systems analysis, EDI, and interoperability projects.
- Serve as the primary technical and business subject matter expert for EDI systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and major accounts on EDI implementations, connectivity, and ongoing system support.
- Troubleshoot EDI conversions, system integrations, and data exchange issues in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
- Partner closely with Information Technology, data, and integration teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing methodologies, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve project outcomes.
- Perform Project Lead responsibilities when assigned, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
- Facilitate project, technical, and cross-functional meetings.
- Mentor and guide less experienced analysts, promoting best practices and knowledge transfer.
- Ensure adherence to data security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements, including PHI and PII.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a healthcare technology environment, including hands-on EDI and ANSI experience.
An Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Work location: Virtual, with required on-site attendance twice per month and as needed for onboarding or training.
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in healthcare interoperability standards and data formats: HL7, CCDA, JSON, XML.
- Experience with healthcare data platforms and repositories such as FHIR, EDH, and Excelicare.
- Proven experience supporting Corolar ADT processing, including monitoring, error/rejection investigation, and trend analysis.
- Advanced data extraction and transformation skills using SQL and Power Query (M).
Advanced Power BI proficiency, including:
- Dashboard and report development.
- DAX calculations.
- Optimized data models.
- On-demand and scheduled operational reporting (ADT, LAB, RAD, CCDA).
- Experience with integrations and troubleshooting using Postman (or equivalent tools), SFTP, and API-based data transfers.
- Strong root-cause analysis capabilities related to data quality, integrations, and system issues.
- Solid knowledge of EDI, ANSI transactions, and healthcare data exchange workflows.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
- Proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
