  • Create electrical and mechanical designs from engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, customer requirements, and production standards.

  • Develop construction, manufacturing, and fabrication drawing packages including dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, machining notes, and assembly details.

  • Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accuracy of associated documentation.

  • Interpret and prepare electrical one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, equipment layouts, and control panel designs.

  • Create conceptual sketches and preliminary designs to support project development and customer presentations.

Engineering Support

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, production, and document control teams to ensure design intent is fully captured and implemented.

  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, constructability, serviceability, and cost effectiveness.

  • Conduct basic design calculations and design reviews to verify functionality, dimensions, clearances, and tolerances.

  • Support prototype development, testing activities, and design verification efforts.

  • Identify design concerns and recommend practical engineering solutions.

Production & Change Management

  • Respond to manufacturing and shop-floor issues related to drawings, BOMs, specifications, routings, and design intent.

  • Coordinate drawing revisions and engineering changes through established document control and change management processes.

  • Ensure released documentation accurately reflects approved production configurations.

  • Continuously support improvement opportunities identified through production feedback.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure all drawings and models comply with company standards, drafting practices, customer requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.

  • Maintain revision control and documentation accuracy throughout project lifecycles.

  • Apply knowledge of electrical standards and industry requirements including NEC, CEC, UL, and NFPA where applicable.

  • Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and performance objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, materials, and assembly practices.

  • Knowledge of dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards (ASME Y14 and GD&T principles).

  • Familiarity with applicable electrical standards and codes including NEC/CEC, UL, and NFPA.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
