Our client is a semiconductor software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Develop software tools used in the physical implementation of integrated circuits, with emphasis on layout and optimization algorithms. The work includes regular technical engagement with external users and responsibility for major deliverables.
What you'll do
- Turn complex manufacturing design rules into software logic that powers a physical design optimization system.
- Develop engineering software for place and route, optimization and backend chip implementation.
- Meet with external users weekly and lead significant customer-facing deliverables.
- Contribute to near-term feature work such as closing functional gaps, fixing defects and shipping enhancements.
- Take part in longer-term initiatives, including automated workflows and integration of machine learning models.
- Collaborate with a small group of highly skilled engineers and researchers.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 2 to 7 years of experience in research and development for chip layout or physical design, including place and route.
- BS, MS or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science.
- Experience building EDA tools rather than only running scripts.
- Background at an established EDA vendor or semiconductor company.
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools and design flows.
- Experience with advanced process nodes, 7nm and below.
- Strong algorithmic and optimization skills.
- Motivation to create tools rather than only use them.
- Willingness to work on-site 4 days per week.

- Base salary: USD 250,000 to 350,000 per year
