Job Description:
- The BCM Design Release Engineer will support the design, development, integration, validation, and release of Body Control Module (BCM) systems for automotive vehicle programs.
- This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, software development teams, systems engineering, and vehicle validation teams to ensure BCM functionality, communication integrity, and compliance with program requirements.
- The engineer will support bench-level testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) activities, and full vehicle validation while managing engineering changes, resolving technical issues, and supporting vehicle builds and launch milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- BCM Design & Release: Support the design, development, integration, and release of Body Control Module systems across automotive vehicle programs.
- System Validation: Perform bench-level testing, HIL validation using plywood buck setups, and full vehicle-level testing to verify BCM functionality and system performance.
- Diagnostic Tools: Utilize Vector CANoe and CDA tools for CAN network diagnostics, communication analysis, module interaction verification, and troubleshooting.
- Requirements & Systems Engineering: Participate in Systems Design and Requirements Allocation Review (RAR) meetings, providing technical input on BCM architecture, feature implementation, requirements allocation, and system-level interactions.
- Engineering Change Management: Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for technical feasibility, program timing, validation requirements, and vehicle build impacts.
- Model Year Planning: Support future model year planning by assessing risks, validation status, implementation strategies, and vehicle build impacts associated with BCM hardware and software changes.
- Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with BCM suppliers and internal software development teams to resolve integration issues, coordinate feature updates, and maintain alignment with program schedules.
- Vehicle Build Support: Support vehicle build events, identify BCM-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional engineering and supplier teams.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate system faults, analyze communication and integration issues, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Program Management & Reporting: Communicate validation progress, open issues, technical risks, engineering change impacts, and required actions to program leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Launch Support: Ensure validation activities, engineering changes, and issue resolution efforts remain aligned with vehicle program milestones and launch timelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in automotive engineering, particularly body electronics, BCM development, design release, systems integration, or validation.
- Hands-on experience with Vector CANoe for CAN communication analysis and network diagnostics.
- Understanding of automotive electrical architectures, CAN communication networks, and electronic control module interactions.
- Experience supporting bench testing, HIL testing, or full vehicle validation.
- Familiarity with engineering change management, requirements reviews, and vehicle development processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
