ECAD Principal Engineer

Arm has an exceptional opportunity for an ECAD Principal Engineer in our System-in-Package team! We are looking for an Engineer to become part of a tools and process implementation team responsible for implementing ARM's next generation of SoC's in the IoT, Automotive, and Compute spaces. This role will help support existing toolsets, customize functions as required and help us prepare for the next generation of SoC development.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking an engineer that will assist in the design and development of tools to support package designs. Candidate will work closely with other team members and will need to adapt quickly in support of urgent requests to loosely defined problems and frequent changes.

• Communicate and coordinate with multiple teams to help architect/develop automation that facilitates data transfer and checking between these teams
• Communicate with ECAD vendors regarding new development requirements, problem reports and resolutions.
• Support Library development by helping develop symbols and CAD library databases using Cadence APD tools
• Develop methodologies to improve layout efficiency!
• Some Layout development using best-known practices for DFM, DFA, Signal and Power Delivery Networks
• Provide use model support as needed to internal team members across all the tools in our design cycle.

Required Skills and Experience :

• An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience with 2.5D and 3D package systems and facilitating layout process improvements
• 15+ years of recent experience in the use of Cadence APD & Allegro toolsets with recent experience using V24, and V25, Siemens HyperLynx, Ansys and Valor
• Substantial experience with programming languages such as SKILL, TCL, Ravel, Codex, Python, and others
• Significant experience in the design, development and deployment of Custom Tools in large layout installations.
• Demonstrated history of Product support and internal regression testing and techniques.

"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience :

• Experience with Siemens Expedition, Calibre, Innovus, other tools
• Ability to use SI/PI tools, run early analysis and provide feedback
• Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills for training and documentation

Salary Range:
$249,900-$338,100 per year
