Crossroads Health is currently in search for a understanding, personable, organized and knowledgeable Early Head Start Educational Coordinator to work out of our Painesville, OH Early Childhood Center. Early Head Start (EHS) supports family well-being and school readiness for children ages birth to three - typically of families living in poverty in Lake County.   The Early Head Start Educational Coordinator position provides supervision and direction for all educational services for clients in need; guides curriculum and program planning, development and training, as well as serving as a resource specialist for program staff. This person is responsible for such tasks including program planning and development, supervising employees, training, data collection and analysis.  This role works in partnership with the EHS Manager, EHS Director and the management team managing broad program operations.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with educators, families and other important resources in the delivery of services to young children.
  • Collecting data, evaluating and monitoring program performance; recommends and implements continuous program improvement strategies
  • Closely monitoring and evaluating the quality of services delivered and provides frequent feedback to the staff.
  • Developing strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure positive links and resources for clients and staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external standards (i.e. Office of Head Start, county boards, Joint Commission, OHMHAS, federal and state funding sources, and other pertinent regulatory bodies).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood required at a minimum.  Master’s in Education preferred with Early Childhood experience/focus. 
  • Proven strong and successful supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience in ECE Curriculum, Instruction, and developmentally appropriate strategies to foster Early Childhood Development.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Developmental assessment tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in human services with families of young children, preferably in a home based program option.
  • Knowledge of early child development and principles of child health, safety, nutrition and family dynamics.
  • Experience with low-income families, working with families of diverse backgrounds and varied experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record (4 points or less), reliable transportation and auto insurance with a minimum liability limit of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood
