EAP Telephone Counsellor
(BACP Registered or equivalent)
Nationwide : Flexible office and home working options available
Permanent : Full and Part time hours (Minimum of 3 days per week) available with a fixed protected non-working days each week
Salary - £29,350 based on a full time equivalent

You’ll deliver the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) service to Bupa clients in need of support with their mental health and wellbeing, through solution focussed approaches and techniques. Every day is different, and each call is unique in supporting large and small companies with their employees’ mental health and wellbeing ranging from supporting those living with physical and mental health needs through to helping to achieve working life resilience and assistance with legal and financial worries.

You’ll deliver the EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) service to Bupa clients in accordance with Bupa policies and procedures and also own your own case load of clients within EAP, from EAP clients to Oncology clients.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Answering EAP inbound calls in a busy contact centre environment and providing immediate therapeutic support to callers
Half days to conduct 20 minute assessments, approx. 6 per half day.
Assessing client’s well-being needs using structured mental health assessments to make evidence-based therapy recommendations.
Providing one-off counselling advice and support (not contracted counselling)
Triaging and assessing callers to the EAP helpline to signpost for further support on a wide range of issues.
Assessing and managing risk to clients and others as required
Owning your own case load of clients
Diary management
Booking clients into internal diaries of your own or others within the team
Administration work, in the event of DNA's Late cancellations or gaps in sessions
Working in adherence to professional standards and compliance with regulatory framework
You will also be expected to cover weekend shifts as part of the 6 weekly rota – currently 1 weekend in 4/6
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Recognised Counselling diploma qualification (Level 4) or higher
BACP/UKCP Registration is essential; working towards accreditation is preferred – BACP Individual or Student Membership is not sufficient
Rich and varied experience of Counselling different sectors of and clients in society – experience with complex cases
Preferably previous experience working on a similar in-bound telephone counselling service
Flexible attitude to work the shifts required
Strong IT skills – experienced using MS Teams, Skype and MS Office packages – this is a busy computer and phone-based role
