The Eagle Teach Program Specialist II is a grant-funded position supported through the Moody Eagles Teach Rural Expansion Grant for a three-year funding period. The position collaborates with the Division of Education to coordinate and implement grant-funded initiatives designed to strengthen the educator pipeline throughout rural Northeast Texas. Responsibilities include supporting the recruitment, engagement, and retention of future educators from elementary through high school; coordinating partnerships with local school districts; planning and implementing educational programming and events; collecting and reporting program data; and supporting overall grant implementation and compliance. The Program Specialist II also provides administrative support to the Educator Preparation Program by assisting the Certification Coordinator with certification-related data collection, data entry, record maintenance, and document organization
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Eagles Teach Program Manager to implement all aspects of the Eagles Teach initiative.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations across partner school districts.
- Serve as liaison between Texas A&M University–Texarkana and partner school districts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with district administrators, counselors, teachers, and community partners.
- Coordinate recruitment and engagement activities for elementary, middle, and high school students interested in education careers.
- Assist with scholarship awareness and student communication.
- Plan and coordinate professional development for Eagles Teach participants and partner educators.
- Coordinate camps, career fairs, recognition ceremonies, recruitment events, and other program activities.
- Collaborate with University Advancement on marketing, outreach, and communication efforts.
- Assist with implementation of grant goals, timelines, and performance measures.
- Collect, organize, maintain, and report program participation data.
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation.
- Assist the Certification Coordinator with certification-related data collection, data entry, record maintenance, file organization, and state/university reporting processes.
- Hire, train, and supervise student workers as assigned.
- Travel to partner districts and perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related professional experience.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Experience working in a Texas public school district or higher education.
- Experience coordinating educational programs, grants, or outreach initiatives.
- Experience planning events and managing program data.
- Knowledge of educator preparation and certification processes.

- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours
- Maintain confidentiality.
