Robusta is a tech agency working with a diverse client base across different sectors and industries on implementing digital transformation programs. Engagements are typically focused on digitization of existing operations and processes and/or activation of digital customer engagement channels. With a team of 100+ tech and market consultants, robusta maintains an impactful footprint across EMEA and engages with its clients through its two key operations hubs in Egypt and Germany. You will be working with our partner Mazaya.

Job Overview:

The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for owning and scaling the full digital commerce business across website, mobile app, and operational ecosystem. The role drives sustainable growth in revenue and profitability while improving customer retention (MARC as the north-star metric), ensuring operational excellence, and leading a high-performing cross-functional team. The role is accountable for end-to-end e-commerce P&L performance, digital strategy execution, and continuous improvement of customer experience, unit economics, and service quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end e-commerce business including growth, commercial planning, customer experience, operations, marketplaces, and customer service
  • Drive MARC growth through acquisition, retention, and reactivation strategies, ensuring sustained month-on-month improvement
  • Deliver GMV and net revenue targets in line with the annual business plan across website and mobile app
  • Improve profitability per order by optimizing commercial levers, cost structure, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure strong operational KPIs including on-time delivery, low cancellation rates, and optimized cost per order
  • Own and manage the e-commerce commercial calendar in coordination with Commercial teams
  • Co-own the digital and tech roadmap with CX/Tech teams to ensure alignment with business priorities and customer needs
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with Operations and Finance, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional execution across Commercial, Operations, CX, Marketing, Tech, and Finance to deliver annual targets
  • Lead, manage, and develop a growing e-commerce team (~80 members, including 5 direct reports)
  • Drive innovation, digitization, and marketplace expansion initiatives to unlock new growth channels
  • Own monthly and quarterly performance reporting to the Digital Steering Committee with clear variance analysis and mitigation plans

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 10+ years of overall business experience, with at least 2–3 years in e-commerce leadership roles
  • Strong preference for Fashion or Beauty e-commerce experience
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end e-commerce or digital P&L responsibility
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with ability to manage key metrics such as GMV, MARC, ROAS, AOV, retention, and cost per order
  • Experience in marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Jumia, Noon, or similar platforms) is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership experience managing large, cross-functional teams
  • High proficiency in Arabic and English
  • Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making capability
