About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Due Diligence Consultant for the Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) process on the Consumer Due Diligence team within Higher Risk Customer Management (HRCM). This role will be responsible for completing initial and ongoing due diligence reviews for Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL) and Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) PEP clients. Primary responsibilities include executing customer risk reviews with a focus on financial crimes risk analysis in a queue-based environment.
In this role, you will:
  • Perform customer risk reviews, summaries, and assessments for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), non-U.S. governments, and other high-risk customer segments.
  • Present concise and well-articulated findings, recommendations, and supporting rationale to facilitate the resolution of identified matters; exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the business's risk mitigation and control activities.
  • Conduct research using internal systems and external sources to develop a robust understanding of customer risk profiles.
  • Perform transaction analysis for customers with moderate to high levels of complexity to support risk assessments and rationale.
  • Participate in the research, assessment, and documentation of matters relating to policy compliance, regulatory adherence, risk mitigation, and control effectiveness; identify patterns and trends and look for opportunities to enhance procedures and controls.
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners, and business stakeholders to provide feedback, credibly challenge issues, and ensure alignment and consistency across groups.
  • Make risk-based recommendations regarding onboarding, ongoing monitoring, escalation, and exit decisions.
  • Own client onboarding process to mitigate risk through a due diligence process
  • Participate in conducting less complex client due diligence processes, research and identify opportunities to mitigate risk
  • Consult and provide support to interpret policies, guidelines and governance programs
  • Support business in execution of due diligence reporting processes and controls
  • Review and analyze client onboarding processes or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
  • Exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Aggregate, evaluate and report results and escalate where necessary
  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the due diligence function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers and internal and external customers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience conducting due diligence reviews and risk assessments for high-risk customer segments, including PEPs.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, research, and transaction analysis skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume workload while balancing competing priorities..

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$66,000.00 - $100,000.00
