Zoox is seeking a highly motivated Systems Integration Engineer to support AI driving integration on autonomous vehicles. You will be responsible for supporting development and testing efforts, including functional and regression testing. You will be leading the specification and execution of systems integration plans working with systems engineers, safety experts, and simulation engineers for driving features and AI integration deliverables.
As an intern, you will focus on designing and developing test methodologies targeting the driving behavior of our software stack for autonomous vehicles. You will help accelerate the diagnosis of AV behavior from Simulation and on-vehicle testing by designing tooling improvements and detailed documentation of processes. You work closely with Motion Planning, Perception, Prediction, and other Robotics teams to integrate your features and validate driving behavior for safety and comfort. You will work closely with the Simulation tools development team to provide inputs on capabilities required by the test teams. Lastly, you will implement dashboards and progress-tracking reports to improve efficiency by adopting a metrics-based approach.
Technical Qualifications & Language Requirements
- Working towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or equivalent discipline.
- Experience with C++.
- Familiarity with modern software development methodologies and data exploration tools (Agile, Git, unit testing, CI, Looker etc.).
- Experience in mission or safety-critical product development environments.
- Experience with designing and implementing test strategies that scale across multiple test teams.
Compensation
The monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
