THE POSITION
The Dressing and Signage Design Manager reports to the Senior Dressing and Signage Manager, serving as a key member of the FIFA27 Operations team in close collaboration with the Venue Management team and other stakeholders.
The FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027™ requires outstanding look and feel project to be delivered in a seamless tournament experience. The Dressing and Signage Design Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the design workflow across the Dressing and Signage Project. The role is not principally a designer role, although the ability to design and artwork would be beneficial, the role will be to manage the workload of in-house and freelance design and artworking teams, and the workload for supplier-based artworking teams. The role will also be responsible for the sign-off of all event dressing and signage artworks prior to them entering the production phase.
The successful candidate will work with the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027™ Dressing and Signage appointed suppliers to develop a robust sign off procedure for the full product design, artwork and production processes using a combination of existing content management systems and in some cases custom solutions. They will be required to develop a comprehensive understanding of the brand for both tournaments and knowledge on how this can be translated successfully into elements suitable for dressing and signage.
The role will be responsible for the design of all Dressing and Signage at the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027™ including but not exclusive to the following workstream assets:
- Stadium Dressing
- Stadium Wayfinding
- Non-competition Venue Dressing
- Non-competition Venue Wayfinding
- Functional Area Signage and commodities
- Kit of Parts dressing
- Venue Concessions
- Fleet Buses
The successful candidate will ensure all deliverables align with FIFA's exacting standards while optimizing operational efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manage the design and artwork of all printed and digital materials required for the Dressing and Signage and function.
- To manage the creation of any mock-ups or visualisations that are required for the Dressing and Signage Function.
- To manage a network of in-house freelance designers and the workload for appointed supplier based design teams.
- To work with suppliers to create templates for all artworks, with all production considerations catered for such as required bleed etc.
- To work with other functional areas to create template visualisations of spaces across official sites.
- To be the initial and primary member of the artwork sign of team ensuring all artworks meet the design guidelines and principles for the respective competitions.
- Develop and manage a robust design and artworking process with the Dressing and Signage appointed suppliers, maximizing use of their content management systems where possible.
- Acting as the focal point for all Dressing and Signage design and artwork related queries and inputting into team meetings and reporting where necessary.
- Ability to possibly be relocated to a Host City for up to three months in to act as a Dressing and Signage Venue Manager at an allocated stadium during the event periods.
YOUR PROFILE
- Strong experience in a Design management role in a fast paced environment, ideally with tangible experience in delivering dressing, signage, branding or look projects for events of a similar scale to FIFA World Cups, Olympic Games etc.
- An understanding of the technical aspects of print and production on dressing and signage projects advantageous (i.e. print/production methods, materials and the end purpose of designed assets).
- Experience in managing providers of services for world-class events or projects.
- Experience in the development and integration of Design Processes using content management systems.
- Significant stakeholder management experience across multiple organisations and departments.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education) Design, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
- The role will require extensive use of the appointed Dressing and Signage Supplier(s) project, content and scoping management systems so a readiness to learn new technology processes, systems and programs is essential.
- The role will require attending site visits and being away from home for periods of time, including on-site attendance during the tournament period.
- Right to work in Brazil.
- Bilingual – Brazilian Portuguese and English.
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
