The opportunity

We are looking for a junior, early career level Drafter to join our current group of passionate engineers, designers and project managers. This role will be Newcastle based.

Key responsibilities

• Import & manipulate vendor drawings/models

• Collaborate with the design engineers to deliver concept and detailed design models and drawings

• Support project teams with documentation, revisions and coordination of models and drawings.

• Maintaining design templates and drawing standards

About you
You’ll be seeking fulfilment through autonomy, career flexibility, and working for a business that provides purpose and relevance in what you do. With outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes, you’ll have experience working in a consulting environment, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office team. 

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or have completed a relevant TAFE qualification: Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting or Certificate IV/Diploma in Civil Construction Design

Skills and experience

• Experience with CAD software

• Familiarity with technical drawings

• Strong attention to detail

• Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team

Mindset and behaviours

• Safety‑first, risk‑based approach to all design delivery

• Commitment to working safely within the company’s HSEQ systems

• Enthusiastic and motivated to learn from peers and senior team members

Desirable

• Interest or experience in water and wastewater treatment or pipeline design
