Overview & Responsibilities
Completes detailing assignments with no direction needed from lead designer for standard designs.
Finds similar references, form drawings and information on their own to complete their work assignments accurately.
Supports non-E business growth that requires drafting input prior to award
Checks their own work before handing drawings to checker.
-------Minor drawing errors should be caught (missing dimensions, incorrect dimensions, missing views, etc)
-------Complex errors should be caught (proper GD&T, Proper weld specs, correct materials, issues with design including interferences with mating parts, etc)
-------Checks completed drawings for pictorial, dimensional, structural, and functional wording accuracy and inclusion of all necessary information
Reviews DSPECS and other Engineering information and find pertinent information to complete their work assignments with no input from senior personnel.
Provides all necessary information to checker in drawing packet.
------First pass yield sheet, completed checklist (if applicable), reference material used, markups from their self-check, etc.
Details complex parts and revisions with little to no errors.
------Draws manufacturing, customer and vendor drawings from graphic references such as drawings, layouts, sketches, marked-up prints, etc. and by adding details such as dimensions, tolerances, finishes, fits, notes, parts lists, etc.; and by using ------explicit drafting procedures and references.
Models complex parts (Diaphragms, Shafts, Impellers, Casings, Endwalls, Bearing Housings etc)
Maintains related records and files
Presents drafting procedures and product change suggestions for consideration and review
Returns drawings for corrections or additions, instructs others as to the corrections and additions needed and rechecks corrected drawings.
Completes light checking assignments on simple parts to help aid lead drafters with their checking workload.
Completes proposal layouts and shop order layouts on small modification orders.
Provides status updates on all tasks assigned to them to lead designers and meet deadlines given to them by Supervisor or lead for that job.
Core Competencies
1. Associate degree in specialized technology and a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of drafting experience with mechanical and/or piping related activities.
2. One to two years background as Senior Detailer within Elliott or equivalent background at another company.
3. Proficient computer skills in: Basic PC skills, MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Windchill and CAD packages such as Auto-Cad and/or Pro/Engineer.
