The Role

Are you ready to drive innovation in downstream operations alongside a team of passionate professionals? Join us as a Downstream Scientist in our DS MSAT (Drug Substance Manufacturing, Science and Technology) team and provide engineering and scientific leadership to support clinical and commercial processes! 

About The Position 

The Downstream Scientist team is distributed between the Commercialization team and the New Process Implementation team, however there is deep collaboration and shared responsibilities between both teams, and we see ourselves as one big team. For this temporary position we’re looking for 2 experienced scientists to join the New Process Implementation team.

As an experienced Downstream Scientist, you'll play a crucial role in leading and supporting technology transfer teams and ongoing production. You will guide the implementation of process parameters and controls for manufacturing processes, conduct technical risk assessments, and develop comprehensive project plans. Your expertise will help optimize protein purification operations and enhance the overall manufacturing process. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead or support New Process Implementations, managing the technology transfer process for new products.
  • Develop project plans, timelines and communication with internal stakeholders and customers for a smooth technology transfer.
  • Support existing commercial processes by analyzing manufacturing data to solve problems and improve process performance.
  • Conduct technical investigations and ensure timely completion and communication.
  • Provide comprehensive written manufacturing protocols/reports to support diverse purposes such as investigations, Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) activities and supporting studies.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical or related field (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.). 
  • Broad background in protein purification and biologics manufacturing. 
  • Experience with technology transfers, PPQ reporting, root cause investigations, and data analysis. 
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Leadership experience in project management and technology transfer. 
  • Proactive attitude with good organizational skills. 
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently. 
  • Ability to absorb and utilize new knowledge quickly.
