Main duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and execute downstream process development projects, including chromatography and filtration strategies.
- Design, plan, and perform experiments to identify Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and their impact on Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs).
- Apply advanced statistical and experimental design methodologies (e.g., DoE) to optimize process performance.
- Conduct process characterization studies, such as viral clearance, resin reuse, and process limit evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale processes from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
- Author and review technical documentation, including development reports, protocols, and support regulatory submissions.
- Provide technical support during technology transfer and scale-up.
- Stay at the forefront of innovation by monitoring industry trends and integrating novel technologies into our workflows.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in downstream process development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Expertise in chromatography, filtration, and process characterization techniques.
- Strong grasp of DoE principles and statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
- Experience with GMP environments, regulatory expectations, and tech transfer.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making and a team player.
