Job Summary
Kimes Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our nursing team with passion, precision, and a commitment to exceptional resident care. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee all nursing operations across our assisted living, nursing home, home health, and hospice care services. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and compassionate care while fostering a positive environment for residents and staff alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence care standards, streamline processes, and uphold regulatory excellence in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations including Medicare and HIPAA guidelines.
- Supervise nurse management staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development.
- Develop, review, and update comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, utilizing your strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy.
- Oversee documentation review processes to ensure accuracy in medical records, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records), and other medical documentation.
- Manage shift operations to optimize staffing levels, ensure smooth workflow, and maintain high standards of resident care.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts for resident care including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and compliance with Medicare requirements.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives by monitoring care delivery metrics, conducting audits of medical records, and implementing improvements.
- Facilitate effective communication with residents’ families regarding care plans, progress reports, and any concerns.
- Ensure staff compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
- Promote a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous improvement within the nursing team.
Requirements
- Active and current RN license
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services or hospice care environments.
- Proven management skills with supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles.
- Deep understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care planning processes.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and EHR platforms for documentation review and medical records management.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster professional growth.
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations and reimbursement processes related to skilled nursing services.
- Excellent shift management skills to coordinate staffing schedules effectively across multiple shifts.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times.
- Ability to interpret clinical data such as MDS assessments accurately for quality reporting purposes.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex documentation reviews while maintaining attention to detail.
