Position Requirements 

• Current eligibility for or possession of a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education (specific disability categories are accepted) and Administration & Supervision 

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Special Education or Administration & Supervision 

• Minimum of 3 years of prior administrative experience 

• Experience teaching and working with at-risk adolescents and students in a therapeutic setting preferred 

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills 

• Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, behavioral management, assessment, and educational compliance 

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Provide administrative oversight for the Dominion Academy Therapeutic Day School program 

• Ensure compliance with State and Federal Special Education Regulations and curriculum standards 

• Supervise and evaluate instructors and school staff to ensure effective implementation of curriculum and instructional practices 

• Lead and support professional development opportunities for staff 

• Promote a positive, safe, and therapeutic school culture 

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders to support student success 

• Support students in achieving academic, emotional, and behavioral goals 

• Monitor school policies related to attendance, discipline, and dress code 

• Coordinate emergency management procedures and day-to-day school operations 

• Assist with budgeting, grant proposals, and allocation of school resources 

• Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and administrative records 

• Develop and implement school procedures and operational guidelines
