Under the direction of the Presiding Justice, assigned Judicial Officer assigned to the Superior Court’s Domestic Violence Calendar and the Court Administrator for the Superior Court, the Domestic Violence Case Coordinator shall oversee the daily operations of the Domestic Violence Calendar and is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of case-flow, monitoring, and coordination processes for the Domestic Violence Calendar.  The Coordinator supports the timely, consistent, and efficient handling of domestic violence cases by conducting or facilitating structured intake screenings, assisting with risk-based triage, organizing compliance information for the Court, coordinating with justice-system partners, compliance with federal grant reporting and maintaining data required for evaluation of the program.  The Coordinator will work directly with the justice-system partners to facilitate referrals and ensure that monitoring milestones are met.  The Coordinator will be responsible for acting as the liaison between the court and with assigned justice-system partners to track and monitor court imposed deferred sentences and cases receiving a sentence resulting in a filing.  The Coordinator will be the contact person for the RI Department of Health to track submitted DNA samples in compliance with sentencing requirements.  The Coordinator will develop and implement reports for tracking all cases under this position as outlined above and direct the compilation and analysis of statistical data as required.  The Coordinator will review and comment upon legislation as it relates to cases under the Coordinator’s purview.  The Coordinator will act as the public facing point of contact for the Superior Court as it relates to cases on the Domestic Violence Calendar, cases receiving a deferred or filing sentence, or where a DNA sample is to be provided where grant funding, community outreach, education, or other programs to improve the court’s effectiveness are available.  The Coordinator shall supervise staff assigned to the Domestic Violence Calendar, and will be responsible for any other work designated by the Presiding Justice or Court Administrator.

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, public administration, political science, government, behavioral health, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.  Experience working with state and private agencies, police departments and external organizations associated with the courts.  Knowledge of justice system processes.  Ability to interpret court policies and confidentiality rules.  Strong written and oral communication skills.  Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
