The DoD SkillBridge internship program with Delaware Nation Industries (DNI) provides transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple information technology disciplines in a real-world government contracting environment.
DNI is a DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner supporting federal customers including the Department of Defense and other agencies, delivering solutions across enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and mission support services.
This program is designed to bridge military experience into civilian IT careers through structured training, mentorship, and practical application, with potential for full-time employment upon completion.
Internship Tracks / Functional AreasParticipants may rotate through or specialize in one or more of the following IT areas:
Help Desk / IT Support- Provide Tier 1–2 technical support to end users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Document incidents using ticketing systems
- Support user account management and system access
- Assist with administration of Windows/Linux environments
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (e.g., Active Directory)
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and monitoring
- Support virtualization and cloud-based environments
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Work with routers, switches, firewalls, and secure communications
- Support implementation of cybersecurity best practices
- Participate in software design, development, and testing
- Work with modern programming languages and frameworks
- Support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
- Contribute to automation and scripting efforts
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and system hardening
- Support compliance with DoD security standards
- Monitor systems for security incidents and anomalies
- Gain hands-on experience in a production IT environment supporting federal missions
- Apply technical skills to real-world projects and operational tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior technical staff
- Participate in training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Develop professional skills for transition into civilian IT careers
RequirementsBasic Qualifications
- Active secret clearance (or higher)
- Active IAT II certification (Security+) or higher
- Active Duty Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridge
- Within 180 days of separation or retirement
- Command approval for participation

What We Do
DNI (Delaware Nation Industries) is the parent organization for all Information Technology focused businesses owned by the Delaware Nation. Founded in 2014 DNI was created to support the rapid growth of the tribe’s first 8(a) technology firm, Indigenous Technologies, LLC. In 2011 Indigenous Technologies began several teaming partnerships with CSI, LLC. and was awarded 4 prime contracts with federal customers as a result of this arrangement. This partnership continued through the Fall of 2014 when DNI purchased CSI adding its capabilities and past performance to the growing Tribal IT Services division. As a result of this strategic acquisition by the Delaware Nation, CSI became the second Tribally owned technology focused LLC in the Delaware Nation portfolio. The third company under DNI operations is CreativeIT, LLC. CreativeIT is being built with an eye to the future and is focused on developing core competencies which supplement the strong capabilities of its sister organizations.
