Department OverviewThe Global Documentation organization is committed to equipping our employees, partners, and customers with the knowledge required to plan, deploy and maintain Motorola Solutions first responder equipment by providing access to product technical documentation.
As part of Global Documentation, the Systems & Support organization develops, manages, maintains and supports the systems & tools that enable the delivery of technical documentation in a best-in-class environment.
Job Description

The Global Documentation Team is responsible for the delivery of technical documentation in support of the Motorola Solutions suite of products.

The Systems & Tools Team, within Global Documentation, provides support for the products and tools used to produce the documentation.

The Documentation Content Management Specialist is responsible for providing CCMS management and maintenance.


Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with 1 to 3 years experience in a corporate global role with a focus on documentation content management and DITA content models.

Documentation Content Management Specialist will:

  • Perform all tasks normally associated with Content Development Management including but not limited to:

    • Provide administration of Component Content Management System (CCMS) tools (Heretto, Acrolinx, Oxygen)

    • Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT) programming of stylesheet templates 

    • Perform as a contributing member of an agile team using Jira for sprint management of workload

    • Provide technical writing guidelines and recommendations

    • Troubleshoot issues when writers experience problems with authoring tools

    • Act as the primary point of contact for tool vendors

Interface/Communication

  • Interact with Global Documentation and Training staff globally

  • Proficient in English (verbal and written communication)

  • Participate on functional project teams as required

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with XSLT programming

  • Experience with front-end CCMS management and maintenance

  • Experience in technical writing

  • Experience with text editors, e.g. Oxygen Author XML use & configuration

  • Project management skills 

  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies as needed

  • Work with teams across different time zones as needed

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change
