The Compliance and Support Operations Supervisor provides strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of modernization, compliance, technical support, and operational initiatives within Driver Services. This position ensures operational continuity and timely execution of agency priorities through disciplined project management, cross-functional collaboration, and resource alignment across seven primary functional domains: Systems Testing; Credential Issuance and Identity Vetting; CDL and Compliance Modernization; Field Operations and Training Integration; Process Development and Deployment Coordination; Driver License Help Desk Operations; and Facial Recognition Software (FRS) Operations and Administration.
The incumbent leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for planning, testing, implementing, and supporting technical and procedural solutions that strengthen statewide DMV service delivery. Responsibilities include managing complex projects and operational initiatives, monitoring performance metrics and service levels, resolving interdepartmental issues, establishing operational priorities, and ensuring alignment with agency modernization objectives and federal regulatory requirements.
This position provides direct oversight of the Driver License Help Desk and Facial Recognition Software (FRS) team, ensuring timely resolution of credentialing and system-related inquiries, effective utilization of identity verification technologies, and the implementation of process improvements that enhance customer service, operational efficiency, fraud prevention, and credential integrity. The incumbent establishes procedures and controls, monitors workloads and performance trends, and coordinates system enhancements and issue resolution activities.
The Compliance and Support Operations Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between Driver Services, the Information Technology Department, System Application teams, and vendor partners on technology-related matters impacting supported functions. The position coordinates system testing and deployments, prioritizes system enhancements and defect resolutions, monitors application performance, and ensures corrective actions are implemented efficiently to maintain secure, reliable, and consistent service delivery across North Carolina's credentialing program.

Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC17 $60,881-$106,544
Management prefers applicants with the following:
- Experience initiating and implementing administrative programs, procedures, and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Experience establishing, applying, and interpreting a wide range of policies, procedures and/or laws.
- Knowledge of NC DMV Laws (Chapter 20), rules, regulations, and statutes related to motor vehicles.
- Knowledge of management principles, techniques, practices, and consistent project management skills.
- Experience setting priorities, strategic planning and goal setting.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
