DMC Support Staff

General Purpose:

Durango Mountain Club is an exclusive restaurant and club available to members only.  We hold our staff to higher standards than a more casual dining experience so we can provide the premier experience that our members expect.  We continue to grow and this is a great opportunity to join a high class organization!  This is a seasonal position for the 2026 Summer Season. Dates are subject to change based on applicant's availability and needs of the business.  Our operating hours for the summer 2026 season are as follows: June 20 for 7-day operations through August 16th, then Fri-Sun through October 4th.  For a full list of benefits visit https://www.purgatory.ski/employee-benefits/  

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Greet guests as they arrive, make them feel welcome, seat them 
  • Make sure that a newly sat table has everything they need for their meal
  • Refill waters as needed 
  • Bus tables 
  • Assist bartender and servers with providing extra plateware, washing glasses, restocking ice or liquors during service
  • Clear and sanitize tables promptly as patrons leave to make it inviting for incoming guests
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Abilities: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of basic food and beverage service procedures.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

  • Cleaning Supplies: Support staff use cleaning supplies such as cloths, spray bottles, and sanitizing solutions to clean tables, chairs, and other surfaces in the dining area.
  • Janitorial Supplies: Support staff will use vacuum cleaners, mops, and other janitorial supplies 

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Fast-Paced Atmosphere: The restaurant industry often operates in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours. Support staff must be able to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team Collaboration: Support staff work as part of a team, collaborating with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and others to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  • Customer Interaction: Support staff interact directly with customers, taking orders, answering questions, and addressing concerns or special requests. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Variable Hours: Support staff may work shifts that vary in length and timing, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is often required to accommodate peak business hours.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and Walking: Support staff spend much of their shift on their feet.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Support staff lift and carry trays of food, trays of drinks, kegs, and other items. Some items may be heavy or awkward to carry, requiring strength and balance.
  • Bending and Reaching: Support staff sometimes bend and reach for condiments, silverware, etc and other items stored in high and low shelving.
  • Stressful Situations: Support staff can be stressful at times, especially during busy periods or when dealing with demanding customers or unexpected issues. Support staff must remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent
