Position Summary
The Division AVP of Revenue Cycle is responsible for the overall revenue cycle health and process management of key revenue cycle functions within integrated psychiatric services divisions. The position’s primary goals are to oversee end-to-end revenue cycle operations, driving financial performance, and revenue cycle efficiency. The Division AVP of Revenue Cycle is tasked with providing proactive and actionable insight to division leadership, driving operational excellence through process improvements and fostering an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Reporting to the Division VP of Financial Operations, maintains close and frequent contact with division leadership, admissions leadership, revenue cycle team members, and utilization review team members. Provides direct oversight of the Revenue Cycle Director.
Outside the organization: Maintains professional relationships with insurance provider contacts, staffing agencies, collection agencies, and third-party vendors, as necessary.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Cross Departmental Leadership:
- Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork across departments to ensure processes are in place to improve revenue cycle efficiency.
- Validates daily census reporting across locations and ensure alignment with utilization review and billing.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify and bring forward opportunities for operations efficiencies resulting in positive financial outcomes.
- Revenue Cycle:
- Responsible for management, guidance, training, and leadership of Revenue Cycle Director and assists with difficult accounts and strategies.
- Leads revenue cycle function by developing leaders and initiatives that support and impact division goals.
- Promotes quality and productivity improvements through the development of improved procedures, technology solutions, process innovations and changes that support the strategic growth of the division.
- Oversees month-end close processes to ensure accurate charge capture, revenue recognition, and reporting.
- Ensure revenue cycle processes align with internal policies and payer requirements.
- Ensure KPIs are implemented, reviewed and actioned timely.
- Establishes and maintains communication systems between revenue cycle, admissions, and utilization review ensuring financial agreements are in place prior to admission and adhered to during the client’s treatment episode.
- Collaborates with Division VP of Financial Operations to develop and manage interdepartmental processes that support revenue cycle efficiency.
- Monitors payer activity and collaborates with VP of Payer Relations to address ongoing payer issues.
Additional Responsibilities
- Supports ROI analysis related to a variety of initiatives within the divisions, as requested.
- Supports ongoing reporting and analysis in support of department leaders and change management initiatives.
- Attends internal and external meetings and trainings, as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration; A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is required along with a minimum of 3 years operational experience in the healthcare provider environment with revenue cycle management.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
- Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies – may be very quiet to moderate
- Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Ability to move 25 pounds.

Skills Required
