Purpose of Job:

The Distributor Transfer Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of the operations transfer projects, with a particular focus on operations, processes, and resource management. The Distributor Transfer Manager owns the entire transaction lifecycle and is a front-line liaison for Distributor engagement, satisfaction, and transaction success.

Job Components:

  • Lead the cross-functional teams in providing direction and ensuring collaboration across various departments.
  • Utilize expertise and leadership skills to direct one project manager to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
  • Monitor scope, milestones, and resources across multiple transition projects, proactively addressing roadblocks and adjusting allocations as needed.
  • Execute and ensure the Distributor transfer process is efficient and effective which includes Deal Team Leadership.
  • Ensure all project teams are aligned, and that smooth handoffs and transitions occur between teams.
  • Work with legal teams to handle contracts, agreements, and any other legal documentation related to the transfer.
  • Lead cross-functional project meetings, preparing agendas, defining objectives, and tracking progress to ensure alignment, accountability, and timely communication of updates. Identify potential risks to project timelines or success and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for selling Independent Distributors, ensuring clear and consistent communication as it pertains to the operations transfer.
  • Drive distributor satisfaction by addressing concerns and facilitating successful transactions, ensuring each deal is closed.
  • Identify and drive process improvements within the project and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
     

Qualifications:

  • BA in Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in a distributor (customer) facing role.
  • Strong skills in managing complex, large-scale projects, ideally with experience in real estate, acquisitions, or other business transfers.
  • Strong financial acumen to understand, communicate, and facilitate functions and status of the transactions as the project tracks the anticipated timeline.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams, ensuring high levels of performance
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, HR, and Executive Teams.
  • Ability to identify potential issues or risks and develop solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills to handle sensitive issues and ensure favorable outcomes for all parties involved, including all aspects of “closing” a deal.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, make informed decisions, and assess the viability of the transfer so as to maintain service to the market.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to independently manage and track multiple deliverables and ensure that all aspects of the project are executed on time and within scope.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Products or similar platforms.

Scope Data:

  • Oversee one direct report.
  • Take ownership of ensuring timely and accurate completion of desk sign-offs for all transfer projects; any delays or oversights could lead to substantial financial repercussions.
  • Effective cross-functional relationship building across the enterprise and at all levels, including Executive Leadership. 
  • Interact professionally with various internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Lead small and large projects from beginning to completion.
  • Model Interstate’s Purpose and Values.
     

Work Environment:

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.       
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
  • Regular physical activity includes manual handling, verbal communication, and auditory tasks.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
