Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and streaming platforms in the U.S., U.K. and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal's content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, Universal Television Alternative Studio, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, Universal Pictures Content Group, as well as locally produced content from around the world, and more. Global TV Distribution is a division of Comcast NBCUniversal.
Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for the supply of transmission material from multiple product owners to international broadcasters, local EST/VOD and Premium Video on Demand providers globally; working closely with our sales liaison team to meet challenging and demanding deadlines.
Distribution Coordinators are assigned their own territories and clients, and are responsible for all related product research, content fulfilment, vendor management, communication with internal and external clients, and reverse distribution. They will also liaise with the sales, marketing, finance and legal teams within the company.
This candidate will also play a key role in researching material availability for extensive SVOD research projects and offering the first line of support to various SVOD Servicing teams across the organization.
The individual will demonstrate excellent customer focus and communication skills, with an aptitude for problem-solving and workflow design. They work well under pressure, with the ability to remain calm and productive and have good attention to detail.
The candidate is a confident and engaging presenter, who can operate and interact at many levels in the organisation. They are also analytical, decisive and a negotiator with strong technical knowledge and an awareness of industry trends.
The principal duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Review and analyse client contractual and technical requirements in order to fulfil material requirements.
  • Distribution of, but not limited to, transmission and publicity materials (Digital files, tapes, subtitles, audio tracks) to broadcasters in adherence to all contract specifications and in the latest formats.
  • Research and locate video, subtitles, and A/V elements across multiple databases, systems and Stakeholders within NBC Universal.
  • Managing client relationships and deadlines, working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Responsibility for a specific group of countries and all EST, VOD, PPV, PAY and Free TV clients within these territories.
  • Liaise with local and international vendors to order a varied number of elements depending on client requirements.
  • Liaise with global facilities to ensure materials are dispatched in a timely fashion and to spec.
  • Pull in and manage the creation of localised materials from global dubbing facilities to meet client's license agreements and organise the costs for accessing.
  • Liaise with sales offices to resolve any issues which may arise with the delivery of materials, ensuring that best distribution practices and processes are followed.
  • Co-ordination with sales, finance, marketing, legal and technical departments across NBCU and build good working relationships.
  • Expected to support your managers and team members with the cover of additional territories where required.
  • Adapting and actioning on fast moving transmission critical situations as and when they occur.
  • Managing clients' expectations during stressful scenarios.

Qualifications
Essential Skills required:
  • Experience in a technical media environment is essential, especially familiarity with digital file formats and methods of delivery.
  • The ability to liaise internationally with proven client services experience
  • Experience in reading and understanding contracts and the terminology used.
  • The ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload, manage tight deadlines and good time management skills
  • An understanding of database systems and computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet packages.
  • An interest in the global landscape of film and TV.
  • Good organisational skills and flexibility are essential.
  • Good teamworking skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration.
  • High level of written and verbal communication

Desirable Skills:
  • Fluency in another European Language
