Energy Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Distributed Energy Resources, Project Manager II to join our Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) department. As a member of the DERs department, you will assist with driving customer participation in programs that incentivize the adoption of various DERs including clean transportation, electric vehicle chargers, distributed solar, and demand response. These leading-edge energy technologies are critical in driving our nation’s progress toward a decarbonized grid, and you will play a material role in helping our team make this future a reality. This unique market opportunity, paired with Energy Solutions mission driven approach, creates a perfect environment for individuals who want to have an active voice in shaping the energy future in California and beyond.   

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Overall direction, management, quality control and completion of project deliverables  
  • Developing and managing project budgets and tasks with minimal oversight  
  • Managing the design and implementation of multiple, medium-complexity projects and bringing them to conclusion  
  • Communicating project progress to management and clients  
  • Interacting with customers, clients, and external collaborators and serving as main point of contact for a client  
  • Travel to potential customer sites and market actor businesses to build relationships for program participation 
  • Tracking of industry trends and other market changes that impact DERs  
  • Understanding program priorities and adjusting workload accordingly 
  • Continuously identify and develop process improvements and efficiencies; proactive recommendations for improvements, including suggesting solutions 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree, preference being towards energy, engineering, environmental science or business  
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience, may be a combination of work experience and graduate school 
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong organizational and project management skills  
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office suite 
  • Excellent personal accountability and quality control practices 
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding project focus or client needs 
  • Demonstrated ability to adeptly manage projects with various contributors and timelines 
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and external collaborators 
  • Ability to manage different project management and communication tools 
  • Ability to work and thrive independently in hybrid-remote workplace 
  • Proactiveness in providing updates about project risks and contingencies 
  • Willingness to conduct business travel 

 

Desired Qualification:

  • Experience and fluency with the utility incentive program and regulatory framework  
  • Direct experience in incentive program design and implementation  
  • Familiarity and/or experience with clean transportation or solar 

 

 

Compensation is commensurate with experience with the pay band of  $75,000 - $90,000 /Annually



Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
