Function:
MaintenanceJob Summary:The DCS Specialist position implements and monitors manufacturing processes and operating systems. This includes facility and production equipment using a Yokogawa distributive control system and several PLCs. Also, you will provide technical leadership and support in the development of process controls for all existing/new installations at the site. You will report to the Maintenance Superintendent and work on a team that includes Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians, another DCS Specialist and Instrumentations and Controls Engineers. You will work onsite; this is a safety sensitive position.Job Description:You Will:
- Troubleshooting and Control Strategies: Address control problems by fine-tuning and implementing basic or advanced control strategies.
- Collaborate with operations, plant engineers, and maintenance teams, applying knowledge of system configuration tools and understanding of the plant process.
- Control Systems Management: Lead the execution of control systems migrations, upgrades, and revision updates.
- Cybersecurity Programs: Support and develop programs related to company cybersecurity standards.
- Incident Investigations: Participate in incident investigations involving DCS and SIS systems, ensuring follow-up recommendations are implemented.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Instrumentation, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of five years of experience system controls / system operations
- Minimum two years of controls experience in Refinery/Chemical environment.
- Technical knowledge in the fundamentals of controls engineering and controls systems
- Competencies in Industrial Instrumentation, including Industrial Analyzers, Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Safety Instrumented Systems
- DCS/PLC configuration experience.
