Role Overview

The Distinguished Engineer will serve as the principal technical Director for the regional operation, combining hands-on engineering with strategic oversight. This role partners directly with executive leadership, customers, and the global Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation, customization, and scaling of AI agent solutions.

The ideal candidate is both an exceptional engineer and an effective communicator, comfortable writing production-grade code while also guiding customers through high-stakes architecture, security, and integration conversations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Lead all technical aspects of the customer lifecycle, from early-stage discovery to solution design and deployment.
  • Participate in sales engagements by conducting technical deep dives, delivering demos, and steering architecture and security discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
  • Define and uphold engineering standards, development best practices, and integration frameworks for regional and global teams.

2. Hands-On Engineering & Delivery

  • Design, build, and maintain backend components, integrations, and API-driven workflows for AI agent deployments.
  • Ship high-quality, production-ready code and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end customer integrations—including scoping, development, testing, deployment, and post-production optimization.

3. Team Building & Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing technical team across engineering, integrations, and pre-sales.
  • Establish local delivery capabilities and cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Oversee technical escalations, ensuring timely resolution and customer success.

4. Product Feedback & Localization

  • Gather market and customer insights to inform product improvements and regional feature localization.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between LATAM operations and the global Product & Engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the platform for local languages, regulatory environments, and enterprise needs.

5. Customer Advocacy & Regional Enablement

  • Act as the local technical point of contact, building trusted relationships with enterprise clients and partners.
  • Support adoption initiatives, solution roadmaps, and long-term scaling strategies for AI agent deployments.
  • Lead regional technical enablement, ensuring alignment with global product direction and security/compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; fluency in local language (Spanish) is mandatory.
  • Strong hands-on experience with backend development, system integrations, and API-driven architectures.
  • Solid programming foundation, with TypeScript experience strongly preferred.
  • Background in customer-facing technical roles (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Integration Engineering, Technical Consultant) is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and analytics platforms (e.g., Datadog).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and passion for artificial intelligence.
  • Experience with conversational AI, LLM-based systems, or agent frameworks is an advantage.
