• The Absolut Group, the brand owner of our global white spirits portfolio, whose Gin brand unit and Business Acceleration team sit in London.

We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.

Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered.  In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

This position sits within our Malt Distillation Team who are responsible for all production operations at our malt distilleries across Speyside and Orkney.  The key pillars to the success of the team are Safety, Environment, Compliance, Efficiency and Production.

Your unique contribution

The Team Leader will assist the Operations Manager in effectively managing distillery operations sites and support the delivery of our long-term strategy by leading the development of people, plant, safety and equipment.

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

• People Leadership – to develop and coach people in your team to ensure delivery of business targets.  You will take responsibility for self-development and support the development of others within operations.  You will also support Distillery Operations Technicians in the general use of distillery systems.
• Distillery Operations – to deliver distillery & business objectives aligned to key performance Indicators and to implement and manage various projects within distillery operations with a clear structure, change control and communication with all involved.  You will also liaise with Distilleries Craftsmen and Engineering Maintenance department to ensure required plant maintenance and activities are carried out safely and ensure high housekeeping standards are achieved and maintained.
• Business Improvements – to assist in the development of business short, medium and long-term strategies and to maintain and report progress on improvement strategies.  You will support the development and implementation of a continuous improvement culture and drive operational excellence across all distillery metrics, including Safety & Environment
• Compliance – to maintain compliance with H.M. Revenue & Customs requirements, Company quality, health, safety, environmental, energy management, time management and food / feed safety standards, as well as with all internal and external regulatory control. 

Who you’ll be working with

Internally, you will collaborate with the wider Production team as well as other teams across the organisation, including Health & Safety and HR.

Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure delivery of services to the highest quality.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

• Have experience in supervising or leading people, in a production / manufacturing environment, with the ability to co-ordinate resources and analyse production data.
• Can make decisions based on a logical approach to fact gathering.
• Have a good understanding of continuous improvement and a comprehensive awareness of business compliance requirements.
• Hold a current UK driving licence.
