Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.


Accountability and Specific Duties:

  • Supervising drivers, driver safety, and customer service.
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory at customer locations.
  • Dispatch drivers to replenish inventory at customer locations.
  • Review and complete the order process, prepare schedules for all deliveries.
  • Responsible for implementing Federal, State and local rules and regulations.
  • Monitor usage and make independent decisions in regards when and where to deliveries, including decisions regarding diverting loads, canceling deliveries and adding deliveries as needed based on market conditions.
  • Ensure the overall customer experience and service exceeds Company standards.
  • Plan and assign deliveries to maximize productivity, profitability and customer service.
  • Anticipate, identify, prioritize and resolve/eliminate problems through effective delivery, planning and scheduling.
  • Forecast and project needs/deliveries based on recent or prior sales.
  • Performs load planning activities and coordinates load assignments.
  • Handle administrative paperwork and computer entry duties.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maximize customer service and company profits through effective management of inventories, drivers, trucks, and supply network.
  • Dispatch Software Experience (Prefer SmartLogix)
  • Experience or knowledge of inventory management tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Dispatching experience in a distribution, logistics, or field service environment preferred, but not required
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Maximize customer service and company profits through effective management of inventories, drivers, trucks, and supply network.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving/analytical skills and pays attention to details.
  • Well organized and strong time management skills.
  • Strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented, high-pressure work environment.
