The Disbursement Accounting Supervisor is a vital role within our Finance team in Fiji, responsible for leading our esteemed third-party Disbursement Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with various departments and accounting teams across the organization.
Job Description
- Leading and empowering the Disbursement Accounting team, fostering a lean, efficient, and high-performing collaborative environment.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and reconciliation of Disbursement accounts, maintaining a strong focus on precision.
- Timely and diligently preparing and submitting Monthly Disbursement accounts to the respective principals, ensuring seamless communication.
- Maintaining clear and regular communication with principals regarding Monthly Disbursement accounts, fostering transparency and accountability.
- Preparing comprehensive reports for management review, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Mentoring and developing a capable team, nurturing each individual's potential to ensure seamless operations within the Disbursement Accounting team.
- Proactively identifying areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to optimize department efficiency and capacity.
- Fulfilling additional analysis, reporting, and responsibilities as directed by the Finance Manager, Senior Director of Finance or other senior management.
- Supporting organizational quality and environmental initiatives across the site, contributing to a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Atleast 5 or more years of progressive accounting or ships disbursement experience, showcasing a track record of professional growth and expertise.
- A Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience in the shipping industry is advantageous, providing valuable context and familiarity with industry-specific processes.
- Knowledge of CargoWise, Peachtree, or Logisys software will be an advantage
- Ability to develop a robust set of analytical resources, create meaningful reports, and implement methodologies to enhance decision-making support.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment, adapting quickly to evolving challenges and opportunities.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, analytical, and Excel skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial management.
- Display a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, prioritizing client satisfaction and building lasting relationships.
