THE OPPORTUNITY
Project manager overseeing the planning, direction and coordination of all activities of the designated IDLS projects for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Integrated Data and Lifecycle Solutions (IDLS) team. This Project Manager will ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within scope, schedule, resource and quality parameters, as defined within the executed Statement of Work and/or Customer Contract for the program. Emphasis will be on introducing modern solutions at the directorate level to improve upon the client’s business processes across various work streams. These solutions will tie into the visibility and management of cost, schedule, and performance for our stakeholders. There are also other on-going smaller projects within DISA that fall under this position that the Project Manager would need to manage, but IDLS is the primary focus. The candidate must be comfortable working at a fast pace and capable of managing day-to-day operational requirements as well as strong note taking, documentation, and customer service skills. Candidates located in the Fort Meade area will be given preference for the role.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Provide project management leadership and direction by integrating internal, subcontract, and customer staff into cohesive team structures
- Serve as the forward-facing manager for the Iron Bow Team (IBT) for any required USG COR and Contract Officers that requires IBT to support.
- Provide project status reports IAW with contract deliverables, monitor and track entire program and individual project lifecycle, leverage project reporting tools and be accountable for overall program success. This includes full financial assessment and responsibility of program profitability and accurate monthly forecasting of cost and revenue, as well as review and approval of all invoices to client and payments to subcontractors.
- Assess client business and technical objectives, determine deliverables, evaluate risk and execute projects
- Provide support to Professional Services organization leaders as needed
- Interface with customers on current process and technical objectives and provide suggestions for improvement across a large DISA architecture
- Ensure that information capture is accurate, reviewed and summarized to support process improvement recommendations
- Ability to prioritize and react rapidly to short suspense deadlines
- Understand and apply the Iron Bow PM Methodology processes and procedures
- Understand and abide by the Iron Bow ISO 9001 policies and procedures
- Expectation of after-hours work, as needed, for implementation deployment tasks, cutover tasks, etc.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Develop schedules and plans to support Program-wide activities that all have direct dependencies on the functionality of the DISA IDLS Program.
- Serve as primary escalation point and owner for escalated issues through to resolution
- Interact and collaborate with various inter and intra-departmental peer groups to achieve best results on all assigned tasks.
- Writing and Editing of detailed Program Deliverables
- Building and developing relationships with strategic partner community
- Manage solution development and deployment adhering to best practices and meeting customer expectations
- Assist with RFQs, RFPs and BOMs when needed
- Develop and deliver technical proposals, LOEs, whitepapers and slide presentations
- Effectively work independently and in a team environment
SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS
- BS +8-10 years’ project and project / program management experience. Experience can be substituted for education
- Proven record of success in managing large, technically complex and dispersed projects end-to-end within a DISA environment
- Secret clearance required; Top Secret clearance is preferred
- PMP certification is highly desired
- IAT III certification preferred
- Knowledge of Project Management process; prefer to have DISA-specific experience in enterprise help desk solutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to present in front of small/large audiences including executives
- Experience with application development and infrastructure is preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position has a strong preference for candidates based in FT Meade area. No travel is currently projected for this role.
