Reporting to the Vice-President of Marketing and Market Development, who is responsible for the overall marketing function for Desjardins Group’s business sectors, you act as the primary marketing leader and strategic partner for the Wealth Management Executive Division. You’re responsible for defining and driving the marketing vision for the wealth management sector, ensuring that marketing strategies and initiatives are aligned with business goals, members’ and clients’ needs, and growth prospects. You actively contribute to achieving business objectives and implementing the sector’s strategic directions by using all marketing tools. With your in-depth understanding of the industry, its client groups and its competitive environment, you guide marketing strategies, inform business decisions and act as a growth partner for this business sector. You collaborate with business partners, and the marketing, data and analytics teams to develop offerings and marketing strategies to improve commercial performance, support business development and foster sustainable growth. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Act as a strategic business partner and marketing leader for the Wealth Management Executive Division to help achieve its business goals and develop its strategic directions.
  • Advise sector leaders by leveraging your understanding of markets, client groups, competitors and growth drivers.
  • Define and guide sector-based marketing strategies by translating business priorities, client needs and marketing directions into integrated, value-added initiatives.
  • Influence the development of offers, services, journeys, tools and advisory approaches by incorporating market opportunities, and members’ and clients’ needs.
  • Ensure the integration and consistency of sector marketing strategies, taking into account interdependencies, Desjardins Group priorities and the sector’s business goals.
  • Identify and prioritize growth and value creation levers to help achieve the Wealth Management Executive Division’s business objectives.
  • Exert influential leadership with teams and partners to leverage the expertise needed to achieve the sector’s strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate the execution of the sector’s marketing plan together with the marketing teams and business partners.

Main challenges of the role

  • Act as a marketing leader for the Wealth Management Executive Division to support its business goals and ensure alignment between members’ and clients’ needs, market opportunities and marketing strategies.
  • Increase marketing-related contributions to support business growth, acquisition, loyalty, and value creation for members and clients.
  • Influence the development of offers, journeys and business strategies by integrating the voice of members and clients, market trends and growth opportunities.
  • Act as a catalyst for transformation to support sector developments and adaptation to new market realities.
  • Ensure alignment of the Wealth Management Executive Division’s priorities with Desjardins Group’s directions within a context of multiple contributors and interdependencies.
  • Increase the use of data, strategic insights and analytical capabilities to guide strategic decisions and optimize investments.
  • Mobilize and influence high-level partners around shared objectives and business priorities.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or graduate studies in administration, marketing, finance or a related discipline
  • At least ten years of relevant experience in roles related to strategy, business development, strategic marketing, product management or wealth management
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience acting as a strategic partner for executive leaders
  • Experience influencing business directions or strategic decisions, beyond marketing
  • Experience in a transformation role and mobilizing complex ecosystems
  • Experience in a strategic business partnership role with executive-level leaders, which includes influencing business directions, strategic priorities and growth strategies in a complex environment
  • Proven experience in leading transformation initiatives and engaging multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment, while promoting changes to business models, offers and the client experience
  • Knowledge of French required
  • Advanced intermediate level proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • In-depth knowledge of the wealth management sector, combined with a demonstrated capacity to use data, client insights and market trends to identify and implement growth drivers and business opportunities
