PLEASE NOTE: To support strong partnership and team connection, this role follows a four day in office work model.

Location Overview

Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it’s a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River.

The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas.

Role Overview

The Director, Web Product Management will own the strategy, architecture, and day to day operations of our web content management platform. This role is the senior-most technical and strategic owner of our CMS ecosystem (Contentful), responsible for ensuring the platform scales to support a complex, multi-audience global financial exchange — spanning brand, our core businesses, and regional sites. This individual will bridge marketing, IT, and external development partners, translating business requirements into platform capabilities while driving governance, personalization, and content operations maturity.

Your responsibilities will be

  • Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for Cboe’s CMS platform, ensuring it meets the needs of a multi-audience digital ecosystem.
  • Serve as the primary business and technical liaison between Marketing, IT, and external development/implementation partners
  • Define and enforce content architecture, taxonomy, and governance standards across business units to ensure consistency, scalability, and reusability
  • Be the lead and evangelist for personalization and A/B testing
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of platform capabilities, including workflow automation
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and IR stakeholders to ensure platform architecture supports regulatory and disclosure requirements specific to a financial exchange
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and contract negotiations for CMS and adjacent martech tools
  • Oversee contractors/agency partners responsible for content operations and updates
  • Establish KPIs and reporting to measure platform performance, content efficiency, and business impact
  • Drive change management and training to increase adoption and self-sufficiency across content-owning teams
  • Stay ahead of CMS/martech trends and advise executive stakeholders on platform investment decisions

The ideal candidate has

  • 10+ years of experience in web platform ownership / product management, digital marketing technology, or content strategy, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role
  • Deep hands-on experience with enterprise CMS platforms (Contentful strongly preferred); familiarity with headless/composable architecture
  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder web ecosystems — ideally in financial services, regulated industries, or large enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of content architecture, taxonomy design, and personalization strategy
  • Experience partnering with engineering/IT teams and managing external agency or contractor relationships
  • Excellent executive communication skills; able to translate technical platform decisions into business rationale for senior leadership
  • Proven ability to build business cases, manage budgets, and justify headcount/vendor investment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
  • Preferred Experience in financial markets, exchanges, or highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Contentful specifically, including enterprise pricing models and integrations
  • Experience standing up governance frameworks for a growing marketing organization
