The Role
We are seeking a Director, Web & Content Strategy to lead the team responsible for defining and delivering the content and experience strategy for Prudential.com. This role will oversee a team of Web & Content Strategists and Specialists, and will be accountable for ensuring a cohesive, optimized, and governed web experience that supports both growth and customer support objectives across the site.
Reporting to the VP, Head of Web Strategy & Activation, this leader will help define the strategic vision for Prudential.com, manage the operating and engagement models for the team, and collaborate across Brand & Marketing and business units to execute end-to-end marketing strategies and campaigns. The Director will also lead SEO/AEO strategy and implementation, oversee website governance, and manage agency and vendor relationships for content creation.
This is a hybrid role based in Newark, NJ, with onsite work expected 3 days per week.
 

What you can expect:

  • Define and drive the overall web and content strategy for Prudential.com, ensuring alignment with brand, business, and customer experience goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Web & Content Strategists and Specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Oversee SEO and AEO strategy and implementation to maximize website discoverability, performance, and compliance with financial services standards.
  • Establish and manage website governance frameworks, including content standards, accessibility, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and maintain the operating model for the Web & Content Strategy team, ensuring efficient processes and clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Build and manage the engagement model with business partners to support strategic initiatives, marketing campaigns, and content needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, Technology, Analytics, and Marketing—to deliver cohesive, customer-centric web experiences.
  • Ensure content and experience strategies are optimized for both acquisition and servicing, supporting full-funnel customer journeys.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-powered tools to enhance team efficiency and improve digital experience delivery.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships for content creation, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Champion personalization strategies to deliver tailored experiences that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends, regulatory changes, and customer expectations to evolve the web and content strategy.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure consistent delivery and efficient execution of integrated marketing campaigns and digital initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, digital content strategy, web experience management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven success in developing and executing enterprise-level web and content strategies in a regulated industry, preferably financial services.
  • Expertise in SEO/AEO, content governance, and digital experience optimization.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager), AI technologies, SEO tools, analytics platforms, and accessibility standards.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of translating business goals into actionable digital strategies.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience managing external agencies and vendors to deliver high-quality content and experiences.
  • Passion for customer-centric design, financial literacy, and delivering meaningful digital experiences.

It’d be a plus if you are familiar with:

  • Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional product teams.
  • Personalization platforms and strategies.
  • Tools like Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Workfront, Figma, Qualtrics, Gradial
  • AI tools for content creation and optimization

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $164,700.00 to $222,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
