In collaboration with our 100k+ colleagues, the Holdings team identifies, develops, and transforms groundbreaking healthcare solutions into sustainable value for the entire Northwell Health enterprise. Through a comprehensive investment approach spanning internal innovations, external company investments, and new company creation, the team targets emerging technologies and solutions that align with Northwell's mission while addressing critical clinical and operational challenges.

In this pivotal role, you will be directly responsible for directing, planning, and organizing all Ventures operations and staff, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. A key part of your mission will be to develop and establish robust standards, policies, and procedures to optimize operations across all venture activities, fostering efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. 

Job Responsibility

  • Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for Venture operations.
  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to optimize Venture operations.
  • Oversees identification and development of areas for strategic investment based on industry trends and health system goals. Evaluates potential strategic partnerships, business relationships and equity investments.
  • Directs multiple new business projects. Delivers related conceptual, strategic and tactical presentations to  internal/external stakeholders.
  • Monitors portfolio company relationships and support portfolio companies commercialization pathways and growth. Prepares investment briefs and shares committee materials.
  • Develops strong, positive relationships with administrative and medical staff leadership.
  • Collaborates with key internal/external stakeholders to facilitate the formation of start-up organizations, spin-outs, and new joint ventures.
  • Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports and oversees management of indirect reports.
  • Ensures Ventures activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, tax laws, and the Health System’s Corporate Compliance Program.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience, required.
  • Master's Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-12 years related experience, required.
  • 7+ years leadership/management experience.
