About This Role:
The Director of Value & Access is pivotal in crafting and executing market access strategies for Biogen's products, focusing on the EU and Biogen Intercontinental Region affiliates. You’ll play a crucial role in providing strategic vision and tactical expertise across our marketed and pipeline portfolios, collaborating closely with global teams. This position involves preparing for health technology assessments, engaging in negotiation strategies, and developing innovative access schemes. Your efforts will support Biogen's mission, ensuring our products are accessible to those who need them most. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to align launch strategies, ensuring successful market entry and sustained presence in key regions. Your contribution will be instrumental in navigating the complex payer landscape and driving Biogen's success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development of regional market access strategies and provide insights to global functions.
- Collaborate with affiliate Access teams to set priorities for successful pricing and reimbursement (P&R).
- Partner with Medical and Global Value & Access teams to identify evidence needs for payer value propositions.
- Provide strategic input on the evolving ex-US payer landscape, highlighting future opportunities and challenges.
- Represent the Value & Access function in the EU/BIR Regional Operations team.
- Oversee national pricing and market access implementation, anticipating changes in the competitive environment.
- Align country market access needs with corporate annual planning processes.
- Ensure training for regional and affiliates on market access materials and capabilities.
- Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within ICOE, Value & Access, and Affiliates.
- Disseminate key learnings and best practices across teams.

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in market access, reimbursement, and public affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Strong technical understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and access.
- Sound knowledge of healthcare systems in top 10 ex-US markets and pricing and reimbursement requirements.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrable experience in managing multiple cross-functional projects and external vendors.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Higher level degree in Health Economics, Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Marketing, or Business Studies (MA/MSc/PhD).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with health technology assessment (HTA) agencies or direct payer experience.
- Proven track record in strategic market access planning and implementation.
