Profile Summary
The AVP/Head, US Growth and Value will be a senior role, responsible for leadership, evaluation and execution of the company’s growth initiatives in North America, including in-force and flow reinsurance, legal entity acquisitions, transfer of policyholder administration, partnerships, and other similar opportunities aligned with Resolution Life’s growth strategy, risk appetite and long term value creation objectives.
The individual will take a leadership role in M&A transactions through all phases of the deal lifecycle from origination to execution. The individual will bring deep industry knowledge, strong financial acumen, and a proven track record.
while developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of the in-force life and annuity market. The individual should exhibit strong relationship skills with both external parties and internal executives while thinking creatively and strategically to execute transactions.
Role Responsibilities:
· Cultivate relationships in the US life and annuity market to originate transactions
· Demonstrate experience in managing transaction through its lifecycle, coordinating with internal business, functional leaders, and advisors
· Provide insight and judgment which will inform and influence decisions around potential acquisitions, investments, and divestitures
· Developing a clear rationale and risks associated with proposed transactions
· Provide recommendations to the executive leadership on key deal points
· Deep understanding of in-force and flow life and annuity reinsurance, including business valuation and financial projections, or appraisals
· Bring together internal and external subject matter experts to aid in optimizing transaction benefits, including working closely with members of the actuarial pricing team
· Support external and internal counsel on drafting and reviewing transaction agreements, including driving business decision points in negotiations
· Direct and lead on governance materials including investment committee presentations, process mapping and diligence reports
· Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
· Drive internal alignment on strategic priorities and execution timelines.
Knowledge & Experience
· Bachelors’ degree
· Relevant post graduate qualifications (MBA or related discipline) desirable
· 15+ years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, investment banking, or asset management, with at least 5 years in a business development or strategic role.
· Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with manager, team members and partners/customers
· Detail oriented and strong analytical problem-solving skills
· Excellent quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
· Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage projects under tight timelines
· Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate complex concepts to executives both verbally and in writing
· Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and strategic vision
· Strong project management skills
· Ability to work well with internal leaders in collaborative relationships
· High level of integrity and dependability
· Experience negotiating transactions is preferred but not required
· Familiarity with legal documentation, including an understanding of risk allocation in purchase agreements
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Location and Travel: The role is New York City based (Hybrid), with opportunities to travel to Bermuda, and across the US.

In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.
