The Director will be expected to operate as a hands-on leader who can independently own complex workstreams, develop and mentor junior team members, coordinate across internal and external stakeholders, and provide thoughtful financial and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. This role involves working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to execute financing initiatives, optimize the balance sheet, and maintain compliance with company policies.

The ideal candidate will bring 6-10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, treasury, or a similarly rigorous financial environment.

Location: This is a fully onsite position based in our Tysons Corner, VA office and requires employees to work from the office Monday through Thursday.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Lead day-to-day Treasury execution, overseeing key workstreams across capital markets, Bitcoin operations, liquidity management, financial analysis, and Treasury reporting. Provide direction, review, and mentorship to junior Treasury team members and ensure strong accountability, prioritization, accuracy, and execution.
  • Lead capital markets execution and analysis, including equity, debt, preferred equity, liability management, derivatives, and other strategic financing opportunities. Evaluate financing alternatives and provide recommendations regarding capital allocation, transaction structure, pricing, and execution.
  • Oversee Bitcoin operations, including trading analytics, trading reconciliations, reporting, internal controls, and coordination of related reporting and disclosure processes.
  • Provide leadership over Bitcoin custody strategy and operations, including transfers, wallet and on-chain analysis, counterparty evaluation, internal controls, and due diligence of existing and prospective custodians.
  • Oversee liquidity and cash management activities, including short-term and long-term cash forecasting, USD reserve investments, global cash optimization, liquidity planning, and coordination of preferred dividend and other significant cash requirements.
  • Own and oversee key Treasury reporting and control processes, including weekly Bitcoin/ATM reporting, quarterly financial reporting support, debt covenant compliance, going-concern analysis, reconciliations, and coordination with Accounting, SEC Reporting, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
  • Lead strategic Treasury projects and help translate senior-management objectives into executable workplans. Current areas may include tokenization, preferred-security initiatives, rating agency engagement, new financing structures, new trading and custody counterparties, and Treasury technology and automation.
  • Manage key external relationships, including investment banks, trading counterparties, custodians, rating agencies, lenders, technology providers, auditors, and other financial institutions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations, Tax, SEC Reporting, Technology/IT, and other teams to execute transactions and Treasury initiatives.
  • Drive Treasury technology, automation, and process improvement, including dashboards, data infrastructure, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable controls that reduce manual processes and strengthen the operating environment.
  • Prepare and review sophisticated financial analyses and executive materials, including transaction models, capital structure analyses, Board materials, management presentations, and market updates.
  • Develop the Treasury team, establishing clear ownership and backup coverage across workstreams, reviewing junior-team output, providing ongoing coaching, and progressively increasing the team's ability to operate independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant experience in investment banking and/or private equity, with exposure to corporate treasury, capital markets, public investing, or strategic finance.

  • Advanced understanding of corporate finance, capital structure, financial markets, valuation, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with equity and debt capital markets; experience with convertible debt, preferred equity, derivatives, or other structured securities strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage junior professionals, including reviewing work product, setting priorities, and developing team members.
