The Trading and Platform Operations team acts as the delivery engine of the Platform Success group. This team oversees the execution and outcome of all programmatic campaigns and serves as the critical bridge to product, owning issue resolution and ensuring all platform systems and processes are functioning as intended. 

Role: The Director of Trading and Platform Operations leads Programmatic Trading, Campaign Operations, and Product Support. A seasoned programmatic leader, this person ensures flawless execution, campaign activation quality, and platform stability. They are accountable for operational excellence, internal tooling, product feedback loops, and high-performance execution teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Programmatic Trading & Activation Oversight: Lead the Programmatic Trading and Campaign Ops teams across all managed service accounts and self-service consultation. Ensure high-quality execution, pacing/optimization strategies, and campaign outcomes. 

  • Product Support Integration: Lead the Product Support team, overseeing the technical investigation, troubleshooting, and triaging efforts for platform escalations. Ensure systemic issues are identified, resolved quickly, documented, and assigned to the correct engineering and product queues 

  • Cross-Functional Enablement & Feedback Loop: Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Account Management, Product, and Engineering. Proactively surface insights from trading and support to inform roadmap decisions and platform enhancements. 

  • Process Excellence & Tooling Ownership: Evaluate and improve internal tools and workflows. Own roadmap for trading enablement, trafficking systems, campaign QA, and internal delivery dashboards. 

  • Team & Talent Development: Foster deep domain expertise in programmatic strategy, troubleshooting, and technical execution. Create career pathways and scale leadership across teams. 

  • Executive-Level Discussion: Executive point of contact for trading and operations team, responsible for leading strategic conversations with leaders across internal, client, and partner teams.  

Success in This Role Will Look Like: 

  • Operational Quality: Campaigns are consistently launched and managed with precision, achieving high delivery success rates and low error rates. 

  • Platform & Product Feedback Loop: Insights from trading and support are systematically captured and translated into actionable feedback for internal stakeholders, driving platform stability and product innovation. 

  • Efficiency Gains: Successful development and implementation of internal workflows and tools, resulting in accelerated campaign setup, reduced manual rework, and enhanced team productivity. 

  • Client Impact: Measurable improvements in campaign outcomes and a significant reduction in escalations from Account Management and Sales. 

  • Org Scalability: Team roles and operational processes are clearly defined and documented; the organization scales effectively without over-reliance on individual subject matter experts. 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; background in business, marketing, analytics, or a related field preferred. 

  • 10+ years of experience in platform operations, programmatic execution and/or platform support within digital media or ad tech. 

  • Experience successfully building and managing team of people focused on technical programmatic execution and/or support. 

  • Deep understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, including DSPs, bidding strategies, data flows, and platform infrastructure—comfortable navigating technical systems without being an engineer. 

  • Proven track record managing technical escalations and platform issues, with hands-on experience using tools like JIRA, SQL, APIs, and internal monitoring systems. 

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate and explain complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights in real time for clients and cross-functional teams. 

  • Exceptionally organized and proactive, with a strategic mindset and the ability to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Partnerships with senior leaders to foster cross-functional collaboration and strategically influence the prioritization of platform enhancements and issue resolution 

  • Designed and scaled processes and training programs that elevated team performance, enhanced efficiency, and enabled sustainable growth. 

  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities and high expectations for leadership and innovation. 

  • Passionate about improving internal workflows, strengthening platform stability, and enabling teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $103,800.00 - $289,100.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
