Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Trade Finance Product Leader to drive the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of a suite of trade finance solutions. This role sits at the intersection of product, risk, and client delivery-focused on delivering innovative, compliant, and scalable solutions that meet evolving client needs across global markets.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in trade finance products. A strong understanding of product governance and data flows, and the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies. This individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams-including sales, risk, operations, and technology-to enhance product capabilities, drive adoption, and ensure operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive product adoption, usage and revenue growth
- Monitor product performance, analyze key matrices and identify areas for improvement
- Conduct product testing, gather user feedback and iterate on product features
- Ability to define and help resolve problems, identify product risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
- Ability to resolve difficult and/or technical matters, providing informed opinions and substantiating responses with a rule or by documenting best industry practice
- A grasp of how letter of credit data flows to help ensure proper accounting, data flows and reporting
- Ability to lead and/or collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve roadmap milestones
- Advise leadership to develop and execute business development plans and proposals for product such as payment, trade, risk mitigation and project financing
- Develop and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives and create roadmaps identifying opportunities for product enhancement and innovation
- Act as lead product specialist for varied portfolio of clients developing and executing business development plans and closing
- Lead and support product development, initiative and campaigns
- Be responsible for capital markets origination and structuring of credit financing for international banking transactions
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to implement innovative and significant business solutions
- Identify and mitigate product-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal customers
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- 7+ years of Commercial Banking Products experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Deep understanding of trade finance products, workflows, and end-to-end processes
- Proven product management experience, including a track record of successfully launching and scaling products
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems and drive data-informed decisions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements within trade finance
- Extensive expertise in letters of credit, including applicable governing rules (e.g., UCP, ISP)
- Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and execute on sales and growth opportunities
- Experience leading products through the full lifecycle, from concept and development through launch and post-launch optimization
- Proficiency in leveraging product analytics tools and designing, interpreting, and refining product performance reports
- Up to 20% travel
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
